There's a great comeback story behind London crooner Rationale's powerhouse pop, but we'll leave it to the man himself to reveal all at a later date. What we can say for sure is, since we first heard 'Fast Lane' around five months ago, Rationale hasn't put a foot wrong. His The Fuel To The Fire EP is out tomorrow and its a celebration of a whirlwind year for the newcomer, with favourites 'Re.Up' featuring alongside a new track, 'In The Mire'. Proving he's no one trick pop-soul pony, 'In The Mire' sees Rationale taking a tour of Springsteen's and The Killers' atmospheric, stadium-filling rock, with husky vocals melting into a barrage of chunky drums, lilting synthesizers and pirouetting guitars. We're tipping this man for an assault on the very top of the charts in 2016. - DC
